Friday Afternoon Boat Ride & Evening Reception

Probably one of the best thing about being a participant in our show is getting to know the other wooden boat owners.

When the weather is nice, we have great fun on the Friday afternoon boat ride on Grand Lake. We all meet up around noon at the Presque Isle Association Beach House for a quick little lunch. At around 1 pm. we launch out boats and go for a little cruise around the lake (weather permitting). Usually there are two groups, the faster runabouts and then the smaller slower boats. We tour around the lake in single file like a parade. The people on the lake have come to expect this & love to see the parade.

I think it's great to see the boats at the show, but there sure is nothing compared to hearing these old wooden boats run!
Later in the evening (around 7) we all meet up for the reception at the Old Historic Presque Isle Lodge. It's a great complimentary meal and drinks for you and your family. It's a great time to share your stories about your wooden boat. (maybe how you came to have the boat or old stories about the boat).
